How did you hear about SISEC? Fred Voser was our coach in Kuessnacht am Rigi for 3 years. He told me about SISEC. Are you here primarily because of the sport or the language? I’m here primarily because of the sport. Also the social part is important to me. Did you plan a language stay before you heard about SISEC? Yes. I had been planning a language stay in Canada for a long time. What was your first impression of Canada and Canadians? The people are very friendly, helpful and open. It’s pleasant to live here. The country is beautiful. It’s comparable to Switzerland, but on a much larger scale. Was SISEC helpful in getting you used to your new place? Yes, SISEC was very helpful. Without the instructions from Evelyn, I would have been lost in Calgary. There are always four students sharing a house. Do you think this is a better solution than living with a family? I think the solution with the house is good. The students have more freedom. How old were you when you began playing hockey, and how often do you train per week? I started to play hockey when I was 5 years old. I will train 4 times per week in the upcoming season. Is there a big difference between Swiss hockey and Canadian hockey? The rink is smaller. You have less time to make a play the game. Otherwise, it is the same game. What are you expecting from your language stay? What is your goal? I want to improve my English and my game. How important is sport in your life? Sport is one of the most impotents things in my life. I can’t live without hockey. How do you like the FOCUS International Language School? I like the school. It’s interesting to become acquainted with other countries and cultures. What has been your most positive experience since you arrived? The Stampede was very impressive. I enjoyed that week. The concert from Avril Lavigne in the Saddledome was a great event. |
